Mark Heidebrecht, MSE, EP-C, CPE/CHFP

Mr. Heidebrecht is the owner of ErgoMethods, LLC and a Managing Partner of Ergo-Online, LLC.  He provides expert witness services in the areas of biomechanics, ergonomics and human factors and has developed numerous web-based and corporate ergonomic programs.  Mark has also developed and instructs a preparation course for individuals pursuing certification by the Board of Certified Professional Ergonomists (BCPE).  His experience spans over 15 years and his specialties include ergonomics, biomechanics, human factors, functional capacity evaluation and work physiology.  Mark is certified by the Board of Certified Professional Ergonomists as a Certified Ergonomist / Human Factors Professional and holds an additional certification by the American College of Sports Medicine. Mr. Heidebrecht has developed numerous ergonomic educational products and training modules including the development of ergonomic analysis software and motion analysis equipment.  

Mr. Heidebrecht’s client base includes private industry as well as the federal government. His work experience includes solutions for such industries as apparel manufacturing, public accounting, card/paper manufacturing, shipping/cargo, meat and food processing, pharmaceuticals, automobile / tractor trailer manufacturing, aerospace, insurance, and private hospitals.  Mr. Heidebrecht developed and implemented the Ergonomic Risk Reduction Process for the Customer Service Division of the United States Postal Service.  When fully implemented, it will affect over 750 thousand United State Postal Employees on a national level.

As a guest speaker, Mr. Heidebrecht has authored and/or presented numerous ergonomic and human factors topics throughout the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Topics have included functional capacity evaluations, upper/lower body ergonomic assessments, ergonomic / human factors certification, functional motion analysis, physical demand assessments, job matching, ADA compliance, musculoskeletal disorders and various topics on biomechanics and physiology. 

Mr. Heidebrecht testified as an expert witness in front of OSHA in July of 2000 regarding the ergonomic standard.  In September of 2000 he was asked to present to the National Academy of Sciences in Washington D.C. regarding the effectiveness of ergonomic interventions and the early identification of musculoskeletal disorders.

Mr. Heidebrecht graduated with Honors from the University of Kansas for his research and thesis, The Kinetic Analysis of Lifting and Lowering Utilizing Chaffin’s Biomechanical Model.   His research in the fields of ergonomics and physiology has included analysis such as validity and reliability motion analysis devices, personal attributes contributing to musculoskeletal disorders, kinetic analysis of lifting and lowering tasks, tissue response to muscular strains, force plate foot strike analysis, the stretch shortening cycle, and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.

Mr. Bradbury has over twenty-three years experience in injury prevention and management with the last eight years spent providing onsite rehab service programs, job site analysis, ergonomics education, and ergonomic risk assessments. He has completed numerous advanced education courses in ergonomics and is certified by the Board of Certified Professional Ergonomists.

Sam graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Masters of Organizational Management and from the University of New Mexico with a Education degree with a specialty in Athletic Training, the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of sports related injuries.

Mr. Bradbury currently provides ergonomic consulting services through his firm ErgoStrategies, LLC providing onsite services to Ethicon Endo-Surgery in Albuquerque, NM.  He and an associate team competed in the 2009 Ergo Cup and won an Excellence in Ergonomics Award for " Implementing Ergonomics with Lean Processing for Customer Returns Processing".

Mr. Bradbury is the co-developer of the WorkHab Functional Capacity Evaluation System as well as the Hand Upper Limb Assessment. He and his associates have developed and offer an exam prep course for healthcare and safety personnel wanting to take the BCPE Exam and currently offers companies web based ergonomics education programs through Ergo-Online, LLC.

He has produced a number of corporate educational media productions for management and employees through QEHS, Inc.

He is a peer-reviewed author published in the American Journal of Physical Therapy and has a published chapter in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons textbook publication, Athletic Training and Sports Medicine 4th edition Chapter 23. He also has numerous other publications in the field.

Mr. Bradbury has specific education and certification in a cognitive technology designed to improve concentration and reduce impulsiveness which is used for corporate as well as medical clients.

He is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the Board of Certified Professional Ergonomists, the Institute of Industrial Engineers, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the National Athletic Trainers Association, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
